Your Teaching Team

One of the benefits of training in the UK is the quality of our teaching team

Each training module is facilitated by a faculty member of the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute. There may be a different faculty member for each training year. Each trainer brings his/her unique gifts and experience to their teachings and this helps enhance the learning experience.

Supporting the trainer there will be one or more Senior Assistants and a large assisting team. The more experienced assistants will offer supervision and personal sessions to trainees during the training.

To work as an assistant you have to be a practising SEP. The assistants who offer supervision sessions must have assisted on at least two complete trainings and those offering personal sessions, one. So the assisting team collectively have a lot of experience as practitioners and in supporting a group process.

In the UK we aim to have a 3 to 1 ratio of participants to assistants and we believe that this contributes greatly to the quality of our trainings. Your assisting team will also be with you for the duration of your training - with occasional exceptions. This is part of their commitment to the work.
