About SOSI
SOSI was founded in 2008 to bring professionals from different backgrounds : psychology and psychiatry, neuroscience and medicine, pre- and perinatalogy, the somatic arts and spiritual traditions – to offer their insights into this crucial field of rediscovery.
SOSI offers educational programmes and workshops in the prevention and resolution of traumatic stress, the nemesis that underlies the majority of symptoms we express as individuals, families, societies and cultures. These programmes range from in-depth professional trainings of three years, which prepare healthcare providers to work in the field of PTSD, to short introductions and weekend workshops that are available to everybody.
We focus on creating a learning environment that facilitates connection through our shared humanity while creating space for each participant's own individual and cultural experience. We hold the intention of meeting every participant with the spirit of cultural humility, which includes learning, accountability and growth in response to oversights, mistakes and/or errors. We strive to meet each other with curiosity and acceptance so that difference can support connection.
SOSI’s mission is: Personal, Professional, Political, Planetary
SOSI believes that everyone should have an understanding of what drives our behaviour and why, and a simple, practical toolbox for moving through life’s most difficult moments. SOSI is committed to providing both. SOSI offers individuals an understanding of their symptoms, practical tools to resolve them, and key points for self-regulation. Sessions are both educational and therapeutic, leading to a reduction in symptoms and a return to a more profound sense of psychological, emotional and physical well-being. Specialised bodywork may be used to support the therapeutic process.

Giselle lives in London and rural France. She is the inspiration behind SOSI and the gentle leader of our team. Giselle has well-honed social connection skills and is a fantastic networker. Giselle combines her training as a somatic therapist with the art of midwifery, the core principles of SE, and her widespread cross-cultural experiences.
Dawne
Dawne lives on a farm in rural Wiltshire with her dog Milo. She is the organiser, the fixer and sorter of SOSI. When she is not making sure that our events run like clockwork, Dawne loves to indulge her styling talents working with flowers, bringing a natural beauty and elegance to any environment.
Daniel
Daniel lives in Somerset with his wife Kate where he has been building an off-grid sustainable house. Daniel manages all the technical aspects of SOSI. When he’s not building and fixing things, Daniel works as an SE practitioner and also runs a detox retreat business.
